Troubled teen Sam (George Ferrier) got pulled out of boarding school by distant widowed dad Robert (Martin Csokas), but only because he was expected to help care for the now-hobbled British grandmother he'd never met-retired war journalist and functioning alcoholic Ruth (Charlotte Rampling).
