Batila is a songwriter living in Berlin. He is the child of Congolese-Angolan parents and grew up between Berlin and London. Batila's music (Batila means protector) is "soulphisticated, colourful and lively". Besides Congolese roots, there is also a touch of R&B and soft, jazzy vibes. 'Tatamana' was recorded between Berlin and Kinshasa in the DRC.
